About Covenant Law Firm

Our Gorgeous History

Covenant Law Firm is a full-service legal practice based in Cameroon, comprising a team of highly skilled and experienced attorneys. As a bilingual firm, we proudly reflect the dual legal heritage of Cameroon—integrating both the English Common Law and the French Civil Law systems. Our commitment is to provide exceptional, client-centered legal services across a broad spectrum of practice areas.

The firm was founded by Barr. Obi Rene Ako, Esq., a distinguished member of the Cameroon and Nigeria Bar Associations, whose vision for a dynamic and efficient legal practice led to the establishment of what is today Covenant Law Firm. Since its inception, the firm has grown to include two partners, three associates, one paralegal/administrative staff, and a dedicated external tax consultant.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do you get for your attorney’s fee?

At Covenant Law Firm, your attorney’s fee covers a wide range of essential legal services designed to protect and advance your interests. This includes an in-depth analysis of your case or transaction, thorough legal research, drafting and reviewing contracts or pleadings, and developing a customized strategy aligned with your goals.

You also receive professional negotiation with opposing parties, representation in court or arbitration if necessary, and ongoing updates so you are fully informed at every stage. Our fees reflect the expertise, time, and resources dedicated to achieving effective and timely results while minimizing your legal risks and costs. We believe in transparency and will discuss fee structures upfront to ensure clear expectations.

What information do you need from me in order to get started?

To get started effectively, we typically need a clear understanding of your legal issue or objective. This includes any relevant documents (contracts, correspondence, notices), timelines of events, and key facts related to your matter. Providing background information such as parties involved, prior steps taken, and your desired outcome helps us tailor our advice and strategy.

During your initial consultation, our attorneys will ask focused questions to gather the necessary details. The more complete and accurate the information you provide, the better we can represent your interests and achieve a favorable resolution.

What types of injury cases does your firm work on?

At Covenant Law Firm, we handle a broad range of injury cases, including but not limited to:

  • Motor vehicle accidents (car, motorcycle, truck collisions)

  • Workplace injuries and occupational accidents

  • Medical malpractice and professional negligence

  • Slip and fall and premises liability claims

  • Product liability involving defective or dangerous products

  • Wrongful death claims arising from negligent or intentional acts

Our experienced attorneys are committed to securing fair compensation for physical, emotional, and financial damages. We provide compassionate, personalized representation to guide you through every step of the legal process.

What is my personal injury or insurance claim worth?

The value of your personal injury or insurance claim depends on several factors, including the severity of your injury, medical expenses, lost income, pain and suffering, and any long-term impacts on your quality of life. Insurance coverage limits and liability considerations also affect the potential compensation.

Because every case is unique, we conduct a thorough evaluation of your circumstances, including reviewing medical records, accident reports, and policy details, to provide a realistic assessment of your claim’s worth. Our goal is to pursue the maximum compensation you deserve.

On average, how long does it take before a settlement/trial is reached?

The timeline for reaching a settlement or trial varies based on the complexity of the case, the willingness of parties to negotiate, and the court’s schedule. On average, a straightforward personal injury claim in Cameroon may settle within 1 to 9 months, especially if liability is clear and damages are well-documented.

However, if the case proceeds to trial—due to disputes over fault, compensation, or insurance delays—it can take 1 year or more to reach a final judgment. At Covenant Law Firm, we work diligently to resolve your matter efficiently while protecting your best interests, whether through negotiation or litigation.
